Support for overseas rescue dogs and their guardians

How can I help?
Hi,
I’m Greta, a certified behaviour consultant with a passion for overseas rescue dogs.
I work with dogs and their humans, as they navigate their lives together. I know that as much as you love your dog, certain behaviours can leave you feeling worried, frustrated or upset- and just like you- I've been there. I know that sometimes love and commitment just aren't enough. Sometimes you need a little support.
I'm here to listen and guide you on your journey together. With empathy and compassion, we will work to understand who your dog is - building safety, trust and connection.

Nice things people say
I cannot recommend Greta highly enough for her exceptional work with foreign rescue dogs, particularly those experiencing severe fear and trauma.
Late last year, while volunteering with a dog rescue in Italy, my family and I met a four month old puppy who was extremely fearful of humans. Due to the lack of sanctuary space, the heartbreaking reality was that he was likely going to be left in the mountains. Wanting to give him a chance, we agreed to foster him in England, but we knew we would need specialist support to help him safely transition and recover.
From the very beginning, Greta was extraordinary. Before we had even travelled, she provided practical guidance and emotional reassurance to both us and the volunteers in Italy. During transport and throughout the months that followed, she remained consistently supportive, knowledgeable, patient, and compassionate.
This puppy arrived terrified of people and the world around him. Through Greta’s expert behavioural guidance, tailored plans, and ongoing support, he gradually learned to feel safe, trust humans, and begin enjoying life as a dog should.
Greta didn’t just support the puppy, she supported our entire family through every stage of the process, always making herself available to answer questions, adapt strategies, and celebrate progress with us. Thanks to Greta’s dedication and expertise, the puppy has now successfully moved to his forever home and is settling in beautifully. Greta has also ensured a smooth transition for his adopters by creating a detailed transition plan and continuing her support with a follow up call and advice.
What stands out most about Greta is not only her professional knowledge, but her genuine commitment to the dogs and families she works with. She combines behavioural expertise with kindness, empathy, and an incredible understanding of rescue trauma. The transformation we witnessed would not have been possible without her.
I am profoundly grateful for everything Greta has done, and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking behavioural support for rescue dogs, especially those with fear based behaviours or complex backgrounds.

We adopted our dog Kira after she had spent two years living outside in a garden. Moving into a flat was a huge change for her and we honestly didn't know where to start. She was weeing indoors, barking at every noise, growling at people and reactive to dogs on walks. She was my first dog and I felt completely overwhelmed so I reached out to Greta for help. The support she gave us was invaluable, guiding us through each step and explaining what Kira was feeling and what she needed from us to feel safe. It took time and a lot of work but these days Kira is like a different dog- she's calm and confident and even a bit bossy!

Greta was fantastic when it came to supporting me throughout the adoption process of my beloved dog Chloe. I am prone to feeling anxious and was so determined to give Chloe the best possible chance of feeling comfortable and settled, without rushing her or passing on my own anxieties. Greta was incredibly patient with me, guiding me through my concerns. Chloe has been with me for 3 months and she is now able to be off-lead, greeting other dogs happily (this wasn't always the case!) and is very content in her new home. Greta kept me calm and helped me create an environment where Chloe could be her true lovely self.
I am beyond grateful.

Thank you so much for all your time and support. Poppy is already responding really well to your methods, so much so that Matt thought something was wrong with her when he got back from his trip!
She still has her mad moments and times where she gets overexcited on walks, but overall she seems more connected to us and more relaxed.
We've also turned a corner with her recall - she's still on the long-line as you suggested but she's coming back when we call about 90% of the time now. We'll keep working on it!
